I handicap American football for both NFL and college games. I do pretty well and have never had a losing season!

I publish the Outlaw Line for NFL football, NFL weekly picks for all teams ATS (against the spread) and SU (straight up), and after week 5, I offer over/under picks. For NCAA football I offer ATS and SU picks for every game.

All picks are rated by the highest probability of winning, and are weighted by several factors.

No one who wants to socialize medicine has an idea of how to pay for it (since raising taxes makes you a monster). Blackjack Card Counting help?

So I recently saw the movie 21 (I know it came out about a year ago) and I became interested in counting cards. I started practicing with the Knock-Out Card Counting system and it seems fairly easy. But I have a few questions. When do you start counting the cards? When you first get on the table or do you kick back as a spectator and count from there a few hands? and at what point on the running count do you place a higher bet? +3? +4? +5? Any advice would be helpful.
I have a job broski. Just wanted to pick this up as a hobby. Not looking for a million dollar profit just something I can have fun with.

Frstly, keep in mind that the movie 21 is highly fictionalized and dramatized and is based on some events that occurred years ago. The casinos have since made many rule changes to thwart the practice.

Card counting in blackjack is not cheating nor is it illegal,. But the casinos do not like it when you are counting and winning, and may ask you to leave if you are suspected of doing it. what is the best betting system to play blackjack? i heard 1-3-2-6 system is good is there any others?

Dovers system is not the best, he jsut sells it so he claims it is.

You can use whatever progressive bettign method you want, in the end, none of them will work.

There are 5 methods of beating blackjack that DO work though (card coutnign is not the only one)

1. Card counting
---There are many card countign systems that vary in compexity, the most efficient systems are multi paramiter systems that i really dont see people employing using only their minds as they are VERY complex particularly in the strategy deviation departmet of the system.
2. Shuffle tracking
---Shuffle trackers follow cards throuhg the shuffle and figure the advantage to the player based on the known cards and the number of unknown cards in the sector of cards they were visually following.
3. Ace prediction
----Similer to shuffle tracking, only the player only follows aces, or clusters of aces and calulates the player advantage accordingly.
4. Card sequencing
----Due to the inefficency of hand shuffles, and even the inner working of continuous shuffle machines, the order that cards were dealt during one shoe, will remain during the next shoe after the shuffle, though there will be an unknown number of unknown cards dealt between the cards the were noted in the previous shoe. The player will most likely use this knowledge to predict the presence of an ace in the cards pending to be dealt, but it can also effectively be used to predicct the presence of any card, and modify playing strategy accordingly.
5. Hole carding
-----Holecarding is gaining knowledge of the dealers holecard in the middle of the hands to guid playing strategy, there are legal ways to do this, and illegal ways, but it can yeild huge returns for the player.

In addition to those methods, you can use various scams, that arnt really illegal, but come VERY CLOSE to it, and will certainly get you the boot.

Holecarding is the MOST effective, if you can do it during every hand, but usually its a once every ten hands or so event that you get to view the dealer holecard however it is you manage to do it.

Card sequencing for the purpose of predicting when an ace is gogin to be dealt can be lucrative, when it works out in such a manor that you know you are about to be dealt an ace, however an obsticle occurs as more players sit at the table, you may find yourself knowing the the player next to you is about to be deal that ace you worked so hard to locate, and your efforts are in vein.

Most professionals use a combination of card counting and shuffle tracking which yeilds a player edge of about 2-3%, this is the best and the most practical approach, this is what i do, in addition i attempt to predict aces simultaniously, but it is of little gain because it very rarely generates an oportunity to bet.

Can anyone explain the betting system of poker?

we are trying to have a friendly game of poker ( amoung friends) using plastic chips. But no one knows the proper rules of betting. Thanks very much.

It depends on the limit. There are several variations:

1. Fixed Limit: Probably the simplest. The amount of betting is fixed and the amount is up to you. Usually it's slightly higher in the later rounds. Generally, you want to make the earlier rounds about 2% of the person's average amount of chips, and the later rounds 4%. So if everyone's playing for $10, a good fixed limit amount is 20/40 cents. When playing fixed limit, there's usually a "cap", or maximum number of bets you can make (usually 3-4) per round. You can play any variation of poker with this limit, but it can get kind of monotonous after awhile.

2. Spread limit: Usually used in stud games. You're allowed to bet within a certain range every round (usually between about 1%-5% of the average amount of money; so in the previous example where everyone has $10, a good spread limit would be 10-50 cents). Again, there's usually a "cap."

3. Pot Limit: Pot limit is often used in games where there's fewer rounds of betting, like 5 card draw or Omaha or Hold Em. In Pot Limit, you're allowed to bet up to the amount in the pot at any time. So, if there's 50 cents in the pot, you can bet up to 50 cents. If someone raises 30 cents and the pot becomes 80 cents, then the next person can raise up to 80 cents when it's his turn. With Pot Limit, there's no cap.

4. No Limit. Similar to Pot Limit (no cap, can bet any time, etc), except anybody can bet any amount (up to what they have in front of them) at any time. By far the most creative form, but also potentially the craziest. If spread or fixed limit are getting boring, I recommend starting with pot.

Some extras:

Check-raising: Legal in casinos and official games, but often not allowed in home games. A check-raise is when a player checks and then raises when another player bets to him. It's a strategical move, and is often not allowed in home games.

All-in: An all-in is when a player puts the remainder of his money/chips in the pot. This situation is a little more complicated, since not all players have the same amount of chips/money at the same time. If one player has fewer chips than the remainder of the players in the hand and puts them into the pot, he is only allowed to win up to whatever he puts in. For instance, let's say we have

Player A ($8)

Player B ($12)

Player C ($20)

If all players were to go all in, Player A could only win up to $24 (His $8, plus $8 from Players B & C). If Player B were to go all in, he could win Player A's $8, and $12 from Player C at most (for a total of $32). Player C could win all of Player A and Player B's money, since he has them "covered" (has more chips/money than they do).

If all players go all in, there are now 2 pots: a main pot and a side pot. The main pot consists of the money that could go to ANY player: that would be $24 (Player A's $8, plus $8 from the other two players). Player A has no money left, but Player B has $4 left and Player C has $12 left. If those two continue to bet, they are now playing for a "side" pot. Since Player A has no money in the side pot, he can't win it, but player B or player C could. So if Player B were to go all in with his remaining $4 and player C were to call him (he can't raise, since there's no more money), the side pot would be $8.

As far as gambling systems go, there's millions of them out there. Since I focus on sports betting, those are the ones I know most....and believe me, they're a dime a dozen.

When it comes to sports betting systems though, there's a few that seem like they're marketed everywhere. However, when you go to their website, they all follow the same "get rich quick" theme. Trust me when I say this, there is no such thing as "get rich quick" (except maybe for the lottery). This goes for any gambling system no matter how intriguing they make it sound.

As someone stated earlier, the biggest key to gambling is having a sound money management system in place. Nothing is going to make you rich over night and that's certainly true for sports gambling systems. Is the Martingale betting system banned in vegas casinos? Specific to roulette tables.?

Yeah, so I went againt everything you guys just told me and tried it on a casino online and lost $800. Last time I don't listen to you!

Not specifically, but the Casinos do have regulations in place that severely limit the effectiveness of the Martingale system (not that it's all that smart to begin with). Most roulette tables have a minimum and a maximum bet that you are allowed to make, as well as a maximum payout. These three things make the Martingale system nearly impossible to profit from. It only takes a few losses before you run into the table maximum, which blows the central principle of the Martingale system out of the water.

Whether or not there is a max payout depends on the casino I guess, because I have seen some with a max payout as a way to control inside betting. If someone hits a straight up and a split bet (and yes, I've seen people do this) then you can win a lot of money on a single spin, so some roulette tables have a max payout per spin.

My Successful Gambling System?

I have a gambling system in which I bet online this week I started testing on paper on virtual racing. So far I have been tracking the races and seeing what I would have bet on so far I would have made £248. I was just wondering how much do I need to win on paper before I know that my racing system works?

Suggest you use the The Absorption Staking Plan

The first thing you need to do before placing a single bet is to establish a betting bank. Your betting bank has to be self-sustaining and once established you cannot add any more of your 'own' money to it. Now, use 5% of the bank to bet for a win and 5% for a place/show for all your betting from now on. Reinvest all your profits back into the bank and let it absorb the losses as well.

So whether your bank increases or decreases in size, your bets remain in proportion all the time – 5% for a win and 5% for a place/show

Example: Betting Bank $100: Win bet $5 Place Bet $5

OR

Betting Bank $75: Win bet $3.75 Place bet $3.75 (Round them off to nearest whole number if need be)

How You Can Sustain 30 Straight Losses
Even though this Peaking Racing System is no where as robust as my main selection system "How to 'Place Bet' on Favorites for a Living", you still shouldn’t get 9 straight losses in a row – let alone 30! However the staking plan I have recommended that you use can withstand up to 30 straight losses without totally breaking the bank.
