I Do handicap sports, Im jsut curious what other people have used to win with Sports. I will share my systems with you.

I handicap American football for both NFL and college games. I do pretty well and have never had a losing season!

I publish the Outlaw Line for NFL football, NFL weekly picks for all teams ATS (against the spread) and SU (straight up), and after week 5, I offer over/under picks. For NCAA football I offer ATS and SU picks for every game.

All picks are rated by the highest probability of winning, and are weighted by several factors.

All the picks on the site are absolutely FREE.

What is the difference between investing in stocks and gambling?

some people say there's a way to predict the stock market but really the stock market is unpredictable.....how is it any different than gambling? you can analyze the sports players and teams all you want but you can still lose.....those informecials that show there's a system to predict it is BS...if there was such a system why would they sell their "system"?

not much just that in gambling you either lose or win instantly while investing in stocks you can keep them if you are loosing money and wait til it goes up in price.

Because the lotto game is a controllable and penetrable system before you make any investment, it is the best gambling system, although I do not agree with gambling category for lotto.

No one who wants to socialize medicine has an idea of how to pay for it (since raising taxes makes you a monster). The future I see is paying into SSI my whole life then getting a check for $15.23 a month (OK, let's call it $41.26 but that's after 40 years of inflation) to live on for the rest of my life. But on the bright side, I can go to the doctor for free, as long as I got on the waiting list before I got sick. Hooray!

Mathematicians in sports/horse betting?

Hello,

I am a mathematician and recently I have been investigating the use of mathematicians in hedge funds and such. But it seems to me that the same types of modeling and arbitrage techniques could be used in sports betting (and horses/dogs, etc). Are there people/companies that do this? I feel like it would be even easier to make money in THIS realm (as opposed to Wall Street) since nowadays there are tons of hedge funds all doing similar things, but it seems to be new in gambling...

The last word in your question is your answer. It's called gambling for a reason. You can calculate all you want, but in the end, you're still gambling. Unless you cheat the odds in your favor will never be 100%. That said, you can increase the odds in your favour by understanding the rules of the game and doing the math. I know nothing about hedge funds but in gambling terms you need to have deep enough pockets to take the "strain" of a run of losses. As long as you have enough money to stay in the game, and you are playing so that you win more often than you lose, in the long run you will make money. There are as many systems as there are gamblers and every gambler I've known has been broke.

I in no way mean to insult you and I've used words like gambling and game,play etc., 'cause that's what you're doing whether you wish to call it mathematics and hedge funds notwithstanding. I've seen and read about A math prof and a bunch of his students taking on casinos at blackjack. The way it was presented, it seems like brains beat the casino, but that's simply not true. They won because they cheated and the only reason we heard about it at all is because they got caught.

I wish you the best of luck, and I mean that sincerely because in the end that's what will mean the difference between a retirement fund and broke no matter how much thinking you do.

From your question I gather you are interested in becoming a gambler. Yet you are not willing to gamble on the book. I suggest to you that you do not have the heart to be a succesful gambler for this is but a small risk . The obvious answer is no you should not buy the book.

where would i go to learn how to develop or use the best online football gambling system out there? is there a system that will not cost alot of money to purchase or where would i go to learn how the best one works?

Right. If you're buying a "system", then the only people that are going to make money are the bookies and the person who sold you the system. Winning at sports betting IS possible, but only to a very small percentage of hard-working, disciplined people.

This small percentage of winning players work very hard each week to come up with a small handful of high-percentage plays. They often know things that other folks don't know. They don't ever put all their eggs in one basket, because they know there is NO such thing as a "lock". If you do insist on looking for help, beware of anyone that uses the word "lock". They are lying to you.

My question to you - do you REALLY think you are one of the small percentage of people that knows things and that could work for hours each week analyzing games and players and situations to come up with just a few picks each week?

Almost certainly not. If you were, you wouldn't be looking for a "system".

Does a free market system mean a faux reality system?

Is all of this fake money what caused the last great depression? Since the stock market is a gambling institution, does that mean it should be based on subjective fantasies of what money is worth? While deficits mount, how can we hope to give instrinsic meaning to money that isn't there? Verily, exploitation is easy when money is based on subjective measurements. But should it be so? What regulations do we need to ground the value of money?
It might be a good idea to make some regulations so the parasitical Fed agencies don't get more than they are worth.

Food is not a subjective instrument and money is not subjective measure of relative value. When the price for food exceeds the monthly mortgage payments and the cost for gas exceeds the cost for food, you have a bad situation. In a 'free' market system every business is like an organ in a greater system there to sustain its totality, but when the demand for labor value surpasses the ability of labor to provide, you have poverty in labor because the machine can provide power more efficiently than labor because labor has human need and human need is more expensive to satisfy. This is the communication failure between the organs in the totality. Does the brain ignore the needs of the muscle? But labor is not brainless nor purely a beast of burden. I am a human being.

Does anyone have a gambling system that work? If so will you share it with us?

Last Saturday I bet on a horse at 50 to 1 odds - the odds later fell to 20 to 1 so I accepted a bet at 20 to 1 and it won. Both bets were at £2 each. I won £100 back on the first bet and paid out £40 on the second bet - profit £60. Does that give you a clue. You have to do it on line - fast Internet connection - knowledge of racing - and have 2 sites connected. But you don't win every day!
