My blog has to do with gambling really. sports betting, poker, horse racing, etc. It will have all my horse racing and sports selections plus casino profit/loss. i don't know what to name it though. my cricket nickname is buckets and i want to try and incorporate that in the name

Little confused about U.S. gambling laws...help?

I cant seem to find a definitive answer to my question.
Is it legal to own a sports betting website from within the U.S.
Say its hosted in the u.k. or Canada and only residents of those two countries are allowed to use it. No U.S. citizens would be allowed to use the website. Then would it still be illegal to live in the U.S. and operate a website like that from here.
Please don't mention how theres to much competition in p2p betting, I know that but I still need to have this answered.

You need to be licensed by the Gaming commission of the State from which you plan to operate. Which means that you are subjected to the scrutiny and a complete audit of your on-line activities. You need to provide them with documentation about the ownership of your on-line company as well as the bond for meeting your financial requirements. In 2003 the players union and the commisioner/owners agreed they would test all of the MLB for performance enhancing drugs. If 5% or more of the league tested positive then MLB would start randomly testing. The agreement involved keeping this first list secret as part of the contract between the players association and the owners/commisioner. The players association was the main group fighting against steriod testing and are the reason this list is kept a secret. If it were up to the comishioner he would release the list. he doenst care that much. its the players association that is trying to keep us all from knowing who used to take steriods. 2004 forward there has been random testing in the MLB therefore it is near impossible for any current players to be on the juice. Lastly, the names of the people on this list include players from many teams. It clearly isnt just yankees players. In fact Arod was a Texas Rangers player who was illegally named as being on this list. David Ortiz a Red Sox player is another. There is no reason the yankees would want to keep this list a secret as it would have more of an impact on teams like the Red Sox who likely had more steriod users. No one is paying anyone to keep this list a secret. It is mandated by the supreme court and a felony offense for anyone who releases information from this list.

So, your question clearly shows that you are completely ignorant and don't know the real story behind performance enhancing drugs and baseball. Get your facts straight before you show how much an idiot you are by posting ignoramus questions. Grow up loser.

Would gambling for airline miles be popular?

What if one of the airlines started an online casino that would allow people to play poker, bet sports, or maybe even play online game shows against each other in an effort to win each other's airline miles? I assume it isn't legal, although plenty of online casinos offshore accept US dollars, so there wouldn't be much harm in letting people gamble their airline miles against each other. Just a thought.

Typically you aren't allowed to transfer airline miles, correct?

It might serve a niche, but I don't think that the average person accumulates enough airline miles for it to really take off. Would be interesting to see though.
